Add to that lack of access 2.5 billion without safe, clean places to go to the toilet and the result is 2,000 children dying each day from easily preventable diarrheal diseases and countless others unable to attend school. Millions of women cannot work because they exhaust their time and themselves seeking water and caring for these sick children.
I’d like to introduce you to a wonderful charitable organization founded in 1981, WaterAid. It’s the leading international non-profit focused on clean, safe water and sanitation in Africa, Asia and Central America.
WaterAid’s mission is to transform lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world’s poorest communities. In 1991, Prince Charles of Wales became WaterAid’s first president, a role he continues to this day.
Water is the gift of life. I hope you’ll take a moment to check out the video below. If you’re interested in learning more, visit WaterAid America on Facebook or go directly to the WaterAidAmerica.org.
